Short answer: The 2027 calendar for consumer electronics and gadget brands opens with CES in Las Vegas (6–9 January) and MWC Barcelona (1–4 March), continues with COMPUTEX in Taipei (1–4 June), and peaks again in September with IFA Berlin (3–7 September) and Tokyo Game Show, before CEATEC in Japan (19–22 October). Category shows for pets, home appliances, gaming and gifts fill the months in between. Choose by audience before size: CES and MWC are trade-only, IFA and gamescom mix trade and public visitors, and the Hong Kong fairs are sourcing markets for buyers.

How to use this calendar

This is a planning calendar for overseas hardware, smart-home, pet and lifestyle brands. Every date below comes from the organizer's own website or announcement, or from trade press reporting an organizer announcement, checked in October 2026; Maison&Objet's January dates, 14–18 January 2027 (listed by trade sources; confirm on maison-objet.com), are the one exception, and we label them. Where an organizer hasn't published 2027 dates yet, we say so rather than repeat dates from listing sites, which are often wrong.

Two things to keep in mind. Dates move, so confirm on the official site before you book flights. And Gloture isn't the organizer of any of these shows and has no affiliation with them; we help brands turn show launches into Japanese media coverage.

Each event links to its official website. Where we've written a full exhibitor guide, it's linked in the last column.

Sources: organizer websites listed above; KBIS dates from Surface & Panel, September 2026; AWE dates from the organizer's launch release (Kyodo News PR Wire, August 2026); BitSummit from GameBusiness.jp, October 2026 (in Japanese); gamescom from PocketGamer.biz, September 2026, as we couldn't read the official site; Tokyo Game Show 2027 is listed as "planned" in CESA's announcement (GameBusiness.jp, September 2026, in Japanese).

A few gaps are worth knowing. Interzoo, the large pet trade fair in Nuremberg, is biennial: there is no 2027 edition, and the next one runs 23–26 May 2028 (Interzoo). The September 2027 edition of Maison&Objet and the autumn 2027 Tokyo Gift Show weren't announced when we checked.

Late-2026 editions still relevant for planning

Some shows run in the last months of 2026. They are useful either as a final chance to meet buyers this year or as a preview of what next year's edition will look like.

  • HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn) 2026: completed, 13–16 October 2026, with electronicAsia. HKTDC reported over 61,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions across the two fairs (HKTDC, October 2026).
  • CEATEC 2026: completed, 13–16 October 2026, with 821 exhibitors (CEATEC). Its registered-visitor count of 112,373 for the four days also counts people attending Japan Mobility Show Bizweek, which shared the venue, so it isn't a CEATEC-only number (Internet Watch, October 2026, in Japanese).
  • Global Sources Hong Kong Shows, October 2026: two phases, 11–14 and 18–21 October 2026, at AsiaWorld-Expo. Results weren't published when we checked.
  • gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show: upcoming, 29 October – 1 November 2026, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok. The business area runs 29–30 October; the entertainment area, which includes hardware, runs 30 October – 1 November (TCEB). 2027 dates not yet published.
  • JAPAN BUILD TOKYO: upcoming, 2–4 December 2026, Tokyo Big Sight. A trade-only building show that includes a Smart Home Expo zone for smart locks, home security and home energy systems (JAPAN BUILD). Tokyo 2027 dates not yet published.

A simplified guide. Audience rules come from each organizer and can change by edition.

Consumer electronics and gadget brands with an international launch. CES and IFA are both global launch stages. CES is trade-only and concentrated in four days in January; IFA admits both trade and private visitors on all five days, so it also tests consumer reactions in Europe. If you need media more than buyers, both have large press contingents (CES 2026: 7,037 media, content creators and analysts, CTA-reported; IFA 2026: more than 5,200 press, bloggers and creators, organizer-reported).

Mobile, connectivity and connected devices. MWC Barcelona is strictly B2B, with 4YFN alongside it for startups. It suits products whose buyers are carriers, platforms or enterprise partners more than retail shoppers.

PC, gaming hardware and components. COMPUTEX in Taipei is the closest to the supply chain and to Asian buyers, with a Consumer & Gaming Products area and InnoVEX for startups founded after 2019. For gaming peripherals aimed at players, gamescom and Tokyo Game Show combine business days with large public crowds.

Brands looking for manufacturers, distributors or importers. The Hong Kong fairs are sourcing markets. HKTDC's Electronics Fairs reserve a Hall of Fame for original brands and licensees; Global Sources is built around suppliers selling to importers and retailers. They are strong for distribution, weaker for a consumer launch. Compare them in the Global Sources guide.

Smart home and appliances. IFA and AWE are the appliance-heavy shows; KBIS suits kitchen, bath and built-in products. See smart home and appliance trade shows.

Pet products. Global Pet Expo in March and SuperZoo in August (11–13 August 2027, Las Vegas) are two US trade shows; Interpets in Tokyo adds public days. See pet industry trade shows.

Design-led lifestyle goods and gifts. Maison&Objet, Ambiente and Tokyo International Gift Show reach retail buyers who stock design goods and gifts, not only electronics stores.

Scale at a glance

These figures are for context, not comparison. Organizers count differently (participants, visitors, buyers, visits), and only CES states an independent audit.

Show Figure Edition Basis
CES 148,392 participants; 4,100+ exhibitors 2026 Attendance independently audited; exhibitor count CTA-reported (CTA release, March 2026)
IFA Berlin 240,000 visitors; 2,000+ exhibitors 2026 Organizer-reported (IFA, September 2026)
MWC Barcelona Nearly 105,000 attendees; 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors and partners 2026 Organizer-reported (GSMA release, March 2026)
COMPUTEX 111,312 buyers and visitors from 152 countries and regions 2026 Organizer-reported
gamescom About 368,000 visitors; 1,743 exhibitors 2026 Trade press reporting organizer figures
Tokyo Game Show 257,642 visitors over four days; 1,138 exhibitors 2026 Organizer figures; the fifth day was canceled for a typhoon
HK Electronics Fair (Autumn) 2,898 exhibitors; 60,000 buyers 2025 HKTDC fair statistics
Interpets 633 exhibitors; 60,019 visitors 2026 Organizer, preliminary

    COMPUTEX 2027

Sources: Messe Frankfurt price list; COMPUTEX 2027 application kit; IFA prebook page; GameBusiness.jp (October 2026).

The calendar dates are the end of the process, not the start. Some examples from the current cycle:

  • COMPUTEX 2027 opened exhibitor registration on 22 September 2026 and allocates booths on 14–18 December 2026 (COMPUTEX 2027 application kit).
  • Ambiente 2027 offered its early-booking rate only to intentions received by 27 March 2026, ten months before the show (Messe Frankfurt price list).
  • IFA 2027 says its prices "move up in fixed stages and keep rising through to mid 2027" (IFA).
  • BitSummit 2027 closes exhibitor entries on 31 January 2027, per GameBusiness.jp.

As a rule, decide on a January or March show by the previous spring, and on a September show by the end of the previous year. For what booths and the rest of the trip cost, see how much it costs to exhibit at an international trade show.

How to Reach Japanese Media Around These Shows

Japanese editors follow some of these shows closely and others hardly at all, so the plan differs by show.

  • CES: Japanese tech media run dedicated CES sections, but Las Vegas is 17 hours behind Japan in January, so embargoes need Japanese timing. See CES to Japan.
  • IFA, MWC, COMPUTEX and the Hong Kong fairs: prepare a Japanese release and images before the show and send them under the same embargo as your English materials. We explain the timing show by show in how to turn a trade show launch into Japanese media coverage.
  • Japanese shows (Tokyo Game Show, CEATEC, Interpets, Tokyo Gift Show): Japanese editors are on the floor, so the work is booth slots, a Japanese speaker and organizer press rules. See trade show PR in Japan.

Wherever you launch, a Japanese editor's first questions are the price in yen, the release date in Japan and where readers can buy it. For which outlets cover which categories, see the guide to Japanese tech media publishers and, for appliances, Japanese media for smart home and appliances.

Where Gloture fits

We don't organize, sell or staff any of these shows. Our part is the Japanese side: a Japanese release and kit prepared before the show, timed for Japanese mornings, outreach to the Japanese editors who cover your category, and a separate Japanese launch once price and availability are set. Product PR in Japan starts from US$2,500. We don't guarantee coverage. If you're choosing a 2027 show and want Japan in the plan, start a Japan PR Review.

Frequently asked questions

Which trade show is best for launching a consumer gadget in 2027?

There's no single best show. CES (6–9 January) and IFA (3–7 September) are both global consumer-technology launch stages, COMPUTEX suits PC and gaming hardware, and category shows such as Global Pet Expo or Ambiente reach buyers that general tech shows miss. Choose by who you need to meet: buyers, distributors, media or consumers.

Why do some 2027 shows say "not yet published"?

Organizers publish the next dates on their own schedule. As of October 2026, HKTDC hadn't published the autumn 2027 Electronics Fair dates and Global Sources hadn't published its April 2027 Hong Kong dates. Listing sites sometimes show dates anyway; we use organizer-confirmed dates, or trade press reporting an organizer announcement, and label the latter.

Can a trade show outside Japan lead to Japanese coverage?

It can, if Japanese editors receive Japanese materials in time and the product has a credible Japanese price and release plan. Japanese outlets cover CES heavily, but for most other shows the Japanese coverage depends on your own outreach rather than on the show itself.
