Short answer: For 2027, the pet industry trade shows to consider include Global Pet Expo in Orlando (17–19 March), Interpets in Tokyo (1–4 April), Zoomark in Bologna (11–13 May), SuperZoo in Las Vegas (show floor 11–13 August), Pet Fair Asia in Shanghai (18–22 August) and PATS in Birmingham (19–21 September). Interzoo in Nuremberg (about 2,400 exhibitors in 2026, organizer-reported) is held every two years and has no 2027 edition; the next one is 23–26 May 2028. Choose by the market where you want distributors and retailers, then check whether the show is trade-only or also open to consumers.

How to choose a pet trade show
Start with the market, not the size of the show. Pet products sell through distributors, specialty retailers and chains, and each of these shows is strongest in its own region.
- United States: Global Pet Expo in March and SuperZoo in August. If you can only do one, ask your target buyers which they attend.
- Europe: Zoomark in 2027, Interzoo in 2028. They alternate years.
- United Kingdom: PATS in September.
- China: Pet Fair Asia in August, the only show here with a very large consumer audience.
- Japan: Interpets in April, with a trade-only first day and three days open to the public.
Then check the audience. At a trade-only show, every conversation is with a buyer, distributor or member of the press. At a mixed show, you also meet pet owners, which is useful for sampling and feedback but needs different staffing and stock.

Global Pet Expo (Orlando, March)
Organizer: the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA). Dates: 17–19 March 2027 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, with the Pet Summit education program from 15 to 18 March.
Figures. Trade publication PetWorldwide reported that the 2026 edition had 22,000+ attendees from 105+ countries, 1,100+ exhibitors and 3,100+ booths, and that the organizers expect 1,000+ exhibiting companies in 2027 (PetWorldwide, August 2026). The official site shows different exhibitor figures in different places (1,000+ and 1,200+, neither labeled by year), so "1,000+ exhibitors" is the safe number.
Audience. A trade event for qualified buyers, with free registration for them. The site also lists a media and influencer attendee category.
For new brands. The official site lists a Start-Ups section, plus Modern Pet, Natural & Sustainable, International & Sourcing and a Catalyst (suppliers) pavilion. The New Products Showcase holds Best in Show awards voted on by buyers, media and influencers; the 2026 edition recognized 39 products across 13 categories.
Costs. No public booth price; apply through the organizer.
Best for: brands that want US distributors and independent pet retailers early in the year. Watch out for: a crowded new-product field. The showcase helps, but it's competitive.
Interpets Tokyo (Tokyo, April)
Organizers: the Japan Pet Food Association, the Japan Pet Products Manufacturers Association and Messe Frankfurt Japan. Dates: 1–4 April 2027 at Tokyo Big Sight, East Halls 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8, 10:00–17:00 (16:30 on the last day).
Audience. Business visitors on all four days; the general public from 2 to 4 April. That makes 1 April the only trade-only day.
Figures. The 2026 edition had 633 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions and 60,019 visitors, according to preliminary figures published by the organizer on 6 April 2026 (Interpets).
Space. When we checked, the organizer's site said exhibition space was fully booked, with a waiting list. There is a New and Recommended Products exhibit, but no named start-up zone. No public booth price on the homepage.
Best for: brands entering Japan that want Japanese distributors, retailers and media in one place, plus consumer feedback. Watch out for: limited space, and public days that need Japanese-speaking staff and clear Japanese labeling.
Zoomark International (Bologna, May)
Organizer: BolognaFiere. Dates: 11–13 May 2027, the 22nd edition. Zoomark runs every two years, in odd years, and was shortened from four days to three after exhibitor feedback (PetfoodIndustry). An older organizer release gave 10–12 May; the official site now says 11–13 May.
Figures. The 2025 edition (5–7 May 2025) had 1,268 exhibitors from 56 countries, up 23% on 2023, about 31,000 visitors of whom over 64% were international, buyers from 120 nations and 43 start-ups, according to the organizer (Zoomark, 2025).
Best for: European distribution in the year Interzoo isn't held. Watch out for: no public stand prices, and a shorter show than before.
SuperZoo (Las Vegas, August)
Organizer: the World Pet Association (WPA). Dates: show floor 11–13 August 2027, education 10–11 August, at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas. The 2026 edition ran from 12 to 14 August.
Figures. We found no official attendance figure for 2026. The Pet Food Institute wrote that 2026 had the second-highest exhibitor count in the show's history (Pet Food Institute).
For new brands. SuperZoo has an "Entrepreneurs and Emerging Brands" path. Booth prices aren't public; space goes through the sales department.
Best for: US retail and grooming buyers in the second half of the year. Watch out for: Las Vegas travel and hotel costs, and no published figures to judge the audience against.
Pet Fair Asia (Shanghai, August)
Organizers: VNU and Globus Events. Dates: 18–22 August 2027, the 29th edition, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). The 28th edition ran from 19 to 23 August 2026.
Figures. The organizer's summary, which we read as the 2026 edition because it isn't labeled by year, gives 2,600+ exhibitors, 320,000+ sqm, 130,000+ trade visitors and 400,000+ consumers (Pet Fair Asia). PetWorldwide reported trade visitors from 90+ countries were expected (PetWorldwide, August 2026).
Audience. Trade and consumer. Some secondary sources describe the opening day as a B2B-only day for invited buyers and media, but we couldn't verify that on the organizer's site. Check the 2027 day split with the organizer before you plan staffing.
Best for: brands targeting China and wider Asia, and brands that want consumer reactions at scale. Watch out for: very large crowds, a long five-day run and no public booth prices.
PATS (Birmingham, September)
Organizer: Impact Exhibitions & Events. Dates: 19–21 September 2027 at NEC Birmingham; opening times to be announced. PATS moved from Telford to the NEC in 2025 (Pet Business World), and the 2026 edition ran from 27 to 29 September 2026.
Figures. Trade press reported 445 exhibitors from 15 countries in 2025. No audited figures were found.
For new brands. A New Starter Zone, an International Pavilion and a New Products Showcase. Entry is free for buyers.
Best for: brands entering UK pet retail at a manageable scale. Watch out for: a mainly UK audience, and no published stand prices.
Interzoo: plan now for 2028
Interzoo, organized by WZF with NuernbergMesse in Nuremberg, is held every two years and has no 2027 edition. The 2026 edition (12–15 May 2026) had about 2,400 exhibitors from about 70 countries, more than 87% from outside Germany, and about 39,000 trade visitors from more than 130 countries, according to the organizer, which called it its largest and most international edition. Fifty-nine young companies exhibited in its start-up areas (Interzoo, May 2026). The next edition is 23–26 May 2028.
What exhibiting costs
None of these shows published a stand price on the pages we checked; each organizer quotes on request. Ask for the space rate, any mandatory media or registration fees, what a shell scheme includes, and the cancellation terms.
The space is usually the smaller part of the bill: floor space is typically only a fifth to a third of the total cost; see what it costs to exhibit. For pet brands, add samples, product for demonstrations, and on public days, stock and staff for consumer questions.

How to Reach Japanese Media Around These Shows
Only one of these shows is in Japan, so the approach depends on where you exhibit.
At Interpets Tokyo, Japanese pet media and trade buyers come to you. Prepare a Japanese release with your booth number and what visitors can try, and invite editors to fixed demo slots, ideally on the trade-only day, 1 April. The verified pet outlets in our guide to Japanese pet and lifestyle media include Benesse's いぬのきもち (Inu no Kimochi) and ねこのきもち (Neko no Kimochi), The Asahi Shimbun's sippo and PETOKOTO. Monthly magazines plan two to three months ahead, so contact them well before April.
At shows outside Japan, don't expect Japanese pet editors on the floor. Treat the show as a news peg and send a Japanese release timed for Japanese business hours. In 2027, Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of Orlando during Global Pet Expo, 16 hours ahead of Las Vegas during SuperZoo, 8 hours ahead of Birmingham during PATS, 7 hours ahead of Bologna during Zoomark and 1 hour ahead of Shanghai during Pet Fair Asia. A 9:00 announcement in Orlando is 22:00 the same day in Tokyo, so plan the Japanese release for the next Japanese morning.
For every show:
- Lead with safety and materials, not health claims. Japanese pet editors want to know what the product is made of, how it's cleaned and which animals it suits. Avoid wording that suggests a product treats or prevents a condition; check the rules first with the Japan product compliance checklist.
- Localize properly. A Japanese summary, price including tax, sizes and where to buy in Japan. Pet media rarely cover products readers can't buy.
- Keep samples in Japan with Japanese labeling, and say whether each unit is a loan or a gift. Editors may want to try a product with an animal.
- Pitch smart pet devices to gadget media too. Automatic feeders and pet cameras also suit the sites in our guide to Japanese gadget websites.
- Extend after the show. Awards from a New Products Showcase, or a new Japanese distributor met at the show, give editors a reason to write weeks later. See trade show PR in Japan, before, during and after and how to turn a trade show launch into Japanese media coverage.
Where Gloture fits
For overseas pet brands, we prepare Japanese releases that lead with safety and materials, review claim wording before outreach, invite Japanese pet and lifestyle editors around Interpets Tokyo or time a Japanese announcement around a show abroad, and arrange samples in Japan. We have no affiliation with any of the shows or organizers in this guide, and we don't book or staff booths. Product PR in Japan starts from US$2,500. We don't guarantee coverage; editors decide. To check fit for your product, start a Japan PR Review.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an Interzoo in 2027?
No. Interzoo is held every two years, and the next edition is 23–26 May 2028 in Nuremberg. In 2027, the European option is Zoomark International in Bologna, 11–13 May.
Which pet trade shows are open to consumers?
Of the shows in this guide, Pet Fair Asia in Shanghai mixes trade and consumer audiences, and Interpets Tokyo opens to the public from 2 to 4 April 2027, after a trade-only first day. Global Pet Expo, SuperZoo, Zoomark, PATS and Interzoo are trade events.
How much does a booth at a pet trade show cost?
None of these organizers publishes a stand price on its public pages; they quote on request. Stand rent is usually a minority of the total, so budget for build, travel, staff, freight and samples as well.
