Short answer: The HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair runs twice a year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC). The Spring Edition runs from 13 to 16 April 2027, with online Click2Match business matching from 6 to 23 April. The Autumn 2026 edition, held with electronicAsia, finished on 16 October 2026. It is a trade-only sourcing fair for buyers aged 18 and over. Brands with their own registered trademark can exhibit in the Hall of Fame. Most of the rest of the floor is manufacturers and traders, organized by product category.
Hong Kong Electronics Fair at a glance
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) organizes both editions. Gloture has no affiliation with HKTDC or any of the fairs below. The facts here come from HKTDC's own fair pages and press releases, checked on 20 October 2026.

Spring and Autumn: which edition fits
The two editions share a format and a venue but are packaged differently.
Spring Edition (April). In 2026 it ran from 13 to 16 April alongside InnoEX, HKTDC's innovation and technology fair (HKTDC, April 2026). The Spring zones listed on the official page are the Hall of Fame, Startup Zone, RoboPark, Adventure Hub and Immersive Experience Zone, plus a label for smart products for older people and a Cantonese Business Go Global pavilion. HKTDC says the Startup Zone connects start-ups with "investors, journalists, buyers, and manufacturers" (HKTDC Spring fair at a glance).
Autumn Edition (October). It is the larger electronics edition and runs alongside electronicAsia, a components fair focused in 2026 on printed circuit boards and solar and photovoltaic products (HKTDC electronicAsia). Its 2026 zones were the Hall of Fame, RISE Avenue, Tech Hall, Startup Zone, RoboPark and Immersive Experience Zone. A Future Industries Zone and a GoGlobal Connect Zone were added in 2026 (HKTDC, October 2026).
If your 2027 plan starts now, April is the realistic target. HKTDC's Spring application link was already tagged for the 2027 edition in October 2026.
How big it is: figures, years and what they include
HKTDC reports its figures in several ways. Some cover one fair, and some cover two or more fairs held together. Here they are as published. All are organizer-reported, not independently audited.
Autumn Edition
- 2025, fair alone: 2,898 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, and 60,000 physical buyers from 142 countries and regions ("Fair Statistics 2025", HKTDC Autumn fair at a glance).
- 2026, combined with electronicAsia: about 3,200 exhibitors, and over 61,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions. The Hall of Fame held more than 560 brands, and more than 120 start-ups and young companies exhibited, mainly in the Startup Zone (HKTDC, October 2026).
Spring Edition
- 2026, combined with InnoEX: over 88,000 buyers from 155 countries and regions (HKTDC press release, 16 April 2026).
- 2026, four spring tech fairs combined (InnoEX, the Spring Electronics Fair and two lighting fairs): over 3,700 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions (HKTDC, April 2026).
Don't compare the 2025 Autumn figure with the 2026 one. The first is the electronics fair alone, and the second includes electronicAsia.
Who exhibits: brands, start-ups and OEM/ODM suppliers
The fair is mostly a sourcing fair. Most exhibitors are manufacturers and traders selling to importers, retailers and distributors, arranged in product-category halls. Many of them make products to a buyer's design (OEM) or sell their own designs for buyers to put their label on (ODM).
The Hall of Fame is different. HKTDC's booth allocation policy says it "is open to companies with original brands or licensees of brand names". Applicants must show a valid brand name registration, an authorization letter from the brand owner, or both. Priority goes to brands with advertising in consumer-oriented media and brands with retail display in any market (HKTDC booth allocation policy, Autumn 2026).
RISE Avenue is the emerging-brands area within the Hall of Fame. The Startup Zone hosts younger companies. HKTDC's fee pages don't list separate prices for either one.
Where a consumer brand fits at the fair
Who it is for
- Hall of Fame (brand)
- Original brands and licensees
- Product hall (supplier)
- Manufacturers and traders, incl. OEM/ODM
- Buyer badge
- Anyone sourcing products
Proof needed
- Hall of Fame (brand)
- Trademark registration or brand-owner letter
- Product hall (supplier)
- Products that fit the zone (60% rule)
- Buyer badge
- Trade registration, 18+
Booth
- Hall of Fame (brand)
- Deluxe or Premium; no Standard booth
- Product hall (supplier)
- Standard 9 sqm or larger
- Buyer badge
- None
Buyers expect
- Hall of Fame (brand)
- A brand to distribute
- Product hall (supplier)
- Prices, MOQs, lead times
- Buyer badge
- —
So a consumer brand has two very different ways to take part:
- As a brand in the Hall of Fame, looking for distributors, retailers and importers who want a branded product. You need trademark proof, and the booth is more expensive (see below).
- As a supplier in a product hall, if you also sell OEM or ODM versions of your product. This puts you among factories, and buyers there tend to compare prices, minimum order quantities and lead times.
If you only want to find a manufacturer, you don't need a booth at all. Register as a buyer.
Booth prices
HKTDC publishes booth prices in Hong Kong dollars. Hong Kong has no VAT or GST. HKTDC also lists US dollar prices, but it sets them separately and they don't match a simple exchange-rate conversion, so check the HK$ figure.
| Booth type | Autumn 2026 (completed) | Spring, latest published |
|---|---|---|
| Standard booth, 9 sqm | HK$44,130 | HK$44,780 |
| Premium booth A, 9 sqm | HK$53,180 | HK$53,970 |
| Premium booth B, 9 sqm | HK$55,760 | HK$56,570 |
| Hall of Fame Deluxe, 15 sqm | HK$98,290 | HK$99,730 |
| Custom-built, space only | HK$4,525 per sqm | HK$4,595 per sqm |
| Default Online Package | HK$3,000 | HK$3,000 |
Sources: HKTDC Autumn fee page and HKTDC Spring fee page, both checked 20 October 2026. The Spring page doesn't clearly say which edition its prices apply to; its documents carry mixed 2025 and 2026 labels. Confirm the 2027 price with HKTDC before you budget.
Three rules matter more than the headline price:
- Hall of Fame exhibitors can't book a Standard booth. HKTDC's policy says the Standard booth option "is NOT applicable" there, so plan for a Deluxe or Premium booth.
- The Default Online Package (HK$3,000) is charged on top of the booth. It covers Click2Match, Scan2Match and exposure on the hktdc.com sourcing platform.
- No refund after confirmation. Once HKTDC issues the confirmation letter, the fee isn't refunded. HKTDC can also move your booth to the right product section, and at least 60% of the display area must show products that fit that zone.
The booth fee is only part of the cost: floor space is typically only a fifth to a third of the total, so budget for stand build, freight, staff, hotels and samples too; see what it costs to exhibit.
How to apply
- Apply online through HKTDC's exhibitor application system (HKTDC application for Autumn; the Spring page has its own "Apply Booth" link).
- Choose the zone that matches your company, and prepare proof: trademark registration or a brand-owner authorization letter for the Hall of Fame.
- Apply early. HKTDC gives past exhibitors priority, and late applications are handled as new exhibitors. The policy page doesn't publish a deadline date.
Business matching for buyers and exhibitors
HKTDC packages the fair as "EXHIBITION+": the physical fair plus Click2Match, Intelligence Hub seminars and year-round hktdc.com Sourcing (HKTDC Newsbites, October 2026).
Click2Match suggests matches from your profile using AI. You can send meeting invitations, chat, hold video meetings and use translation in up to 14 languages, for meetings at the fair or online. It only works during the fair's Click2Match period: 6–23 April 2027 for the Spring Edition (HKTDC Click2Match). HKTDC also runs a separate Business Matching Service.
For buyers, online pre-registration is free. Admission is for trade and business visitors aged 18 and over (HKTDC e-Badge help). HKTDC also runs a travel reimbursement scheme for eligible overseas buyers. Check the current terms with HKTDC.
Matching tools create introductions, not orders; nobody can promise meetings or deals.
Press and media at the fair
HKTDC handles media through its Media Room, where journalists can subscribe to press releases and photos. Its press releases name HKTDC's Communications and Public Affairs Department as the media contact. We couldn't find a public press-badge procedure for the electronics fair, so if you plan a press event at your booth, ask HKTDC how it registers media and whether it allows press activity at booths.
How to Reach Japanese Media Around Hong Kong Electronics Fair
Treat Hong Kong as a sourcing and distribution event, and plan Japanese coverage as a separate piece of work. We have no data on how many Japanese editors attend this fair, and a launch in Hong Kong won't automatically reach Japanese readers.
- Write a Japanese release with a Hong Kong angle, but lead with what matters in Japan: the product, its Japanese price and when Japanese buyers can get it. Editors are reluctant to cover products readers can't buy.
- Use the one-hour gap. Hong Kong is one hour behind Tokyo, so 10:00 in Hong Kong is 11:00 in Tokyo. An embargo set for a morning booth announcement also lands within Japanese business hours, which makes a simultaneous Japanese release practical.
- Pitch the right desks. Most consumer hardware coverage in Japan comes from a few publishing groups whose sites each have their own beat; see the guide to Japanese tech media publishers. For appliances and smart-home products, see the Japanese smart home and appliance media guide.
- Keep review units in Japan. If an editor asks after reading the release, a unit that has to ship from Hong Kong loses days. Japanese labeling and a Japanese quick-start sheet help.
- Use the fair as a news peg afterward. "Shown at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair" gives an editor a reason to write later, especially once a Japanese distributor or retailer is confirmed. See how to turn a trade show launch into Japanese media coverage and our checklist for trade show PR before, during and after.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages
- Large, international buyer base: 60,000 physical buyers from 142 countries and regions for the 2025 Autumn Edition alone.
- Published booth prices, with no VAT to add.
- A Hall of Fame that keeps brands apart from the general supplier halls.
Disadvantages
- Most visitors are sourcing products, so a brand competes for attention with factories that offer lower prices.
- The Hall of Fame requires trademark proof and a bigger, more expensive booth.
- No refund after the confirmation letter.
- Visitor figures are often published together with other fairs, which makes year-on-year comparison hard.
Who it suits
- Brands seeking distributors and importers across Asia and beyond, with wholesale pricing, minimum order quantities and stock ready.
- Hardware start-ups that want a lower-cost presence in the Startup Zone. Ask HKTDC for its terms, because they aren't on the fee page.
- Brands looking for a manufacturer or component supplier, usually as registered buyers rather than exhibitors.
It suits brands less if the goal is consumer awareness, or if you can't yet supply wholesale volumes.

Where Gloture fits
If you exhibit in Hong Kong and want the product covered in Japan, we prepare the Japanese release and kit, time it for Japanese business hours, pitch the outlets that cover your category and follow up after the fair. We don't book or staff booths, and we have no affiliation with HKTDC. Product PR in Japan starts from US$2,500. We don't guarantee coverage; editors decide. To check whether your product and timing suit Japanese media, start a Japan PR Review.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Hong Kong Electronics Fair open to the public?
No. HKTDC admits trade and business visitors aged 18 and over. Buyers can register online for free before the fair.
Can a small brand exhibit in the Hall of Fame?
Yes, if it owns or licenses a registered brand and can prove it with trademark registration or an authorization letter. HKTDC gives priority to brands with consumer-media advertising or retail display. Standard booths aren't available in the Hall of Fame, so budget for a larger booth.
Are the 3,200 exhibitors and 61,000 buyers for the electronics fair alone?
No. HKTDC's 2026 figures combine the Autumn Electronics Fair with electronicAsia. The latest figure for the electronics fair alone is from 2025: 2,898 exhibitors and 60,000 physical buyers.
